Laser wrinkle removal, photorejuvenation, and fat grafting are revolutionary treatments offered near Johnstown, Pennsylvania at Aestique® Medical Center in Greensburg. These treatments are at the cutting edge of plastic surgery and non-surgical cosmetic enhancements.
Laser wrinkle removal, until recently, has been associated with carbon dioxide or erbium laser resurfacing of the face. While these methods are extremely effective, they also result in one to two weeks of downtime and prolonged redness.
Recently CoolTouch® has introduced a laser that can rejuvenate skin and soften fine lines and wrinkles with no downtime and no anesthesia. This technology, created in 1996, combines a laser and cooling system, which targets water in the dermis (the deeper layer of the skin) without damaging the upper layers of the skin nor the underlying tissues.
We offer this method of laser wrinkle removal in our Greensburg, Pennsylvania facility to those seeking an alternative to more drastic wrinkle treatments such as BOTOX® Cosmetic or facelift surgery.
The CoolTouch® laser wrinkle removal system works by heating the dermis to a precise temperature that stimulates the formation of collagen, thereby filling out the skin. This reverses the thinning of the skin and tiny wrinkles caused by the aging process.
This laser wrinkle removal method is referred to as N.I.C.E.™ (Non-Invasive Collagen Enhancement), and can be performed on any skin type or color, unlike older, less-advanced laser resurfacing techniques. In addition to removing wrinkles, the CoolTouch® laser works well on acne scars and can be used anywhere on the body including the neck, hands, elbows, knees, and feet.
The laser wrinkle removal procedure is usually performed in our tranquil offices after applying topical anesthetic creams. It takes 20 to 40 minutes to complete, depending on the size of the area to be treated. Patients can expect some redness to be present for one to two hours after the procedure; however, there are few restrictions other than avoidance of sun and/or rubbing of the skin for a few days.
The risks with laser wrinkle removal are few and extremely uncommon. It is possible to experience several hours of redness or discomfort and possibly a burning sensation if the skin is wet or make-up is left on.
We have found that this laser wrinkle removal procedure yields the best results when performed once a month for three to four months. This procedure creates an ongoing rejuvenation process in the underlying collagen of your skin — in four to six months, final results will emerge. A maintenance program of periodic treatments is also beneficial in maintaining the results achieved by laser wrinkle removal.
Laser wrinkle removal using the CoolTouch® laser can give you a younger face with no injections or surgery. This method of laser wrinkle removal is just one of our anti-aging options. Fat grafting and IPL™ photorejuvenation are also offered at our center near Johnstown, outside Pennsylvania, and are exciting non-invasive solutions to signs of aging. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL™) technology is a breakthrough treatment that can correct a variety of benign skin conditions, such as facial skin imperfections, the signs of photo-aging, birthmarks, unsightly small veins, and other blemishes. A new process called photorejuvenation offers a safe, non-invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual condition and skin type. Photorejuvenation provides superior cosmetic results and outstanding satisfaction.
Facial imperfections or abnormalities can detract from your well-being and appearance, no matter how healthy and young you feel. Photorejuvenation technology helps create smoother-looking skin. After a series of treatments, you can see a significant reduction of unwanted pigmentation. Photorejuvenation can be used effectively on the neck, chest, arms, and hands — all of the areas that are aged by the sun.
The face has an extensive network of veins and tiny blood vessels called capillaries. Over time, aging, trauma, sun exposure, and certain lifestyle factors cause a number of them to break, appearing as red streaks or blotches on the face. IPL™ photorejuvenation can eliminate damaged veins and capillaries by removing all traces of these unsightly blemishes.
Many people suffer from broken capillaries and diffuse erythema (facial redness), experiencing social embarrassment as a result. For both women and men, IPL photorejuvenation can successfully treat dilated blood vessels without injuring the surrounding healthy skin.
The price per session is $250 for the first site and $150 for an additional site. If more than three sites are treated in one session, the fee is $500.
However, please note the following exceptions:
Full face; $500.
Full face and neck; $650.
Hands; $200.
Forearms; $400.
We are excited to offer photorejuvenation to our active patients who cannot afford to take the downtime necessary for recovery after older laser treatments. Please contact Aestique® Medical Center for more details about photorejuvenation at our center near Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Fat grafting is an exciting, minimally invasive new way to add fullness or minimize wrinkles anywhere on the body using the patient’s own fat. In the past few years, fat grafting has boomed in popularity, due in part to the improvement of fat grafting techniques. These new techniques mean a more precise correction of the hollow area, a longer-lasting result, and a smaller chance of complications. These advances have made fat grafting an increasingly viable anti-aging strategy offered at our Pennsylvania medical center.
During fat grafting, fat is carefully extracted from an area such as the hips, buttocks, or abdomen, with care taken not to damage the fat cells. This process is usually separate from liposuction, as traditional liposuction techniques leave fat cells damaged. The fat is then purified, with damaged fat cells removed, and the fat is carefully injected into the area in need of fullness or smoothness.
It’s most common for patients to receive three fat grafting treatments, though some patients see an excellent result in as little as one treatment.
What conditions can fat grafting treat?
Fat grafting can address a variety of problems. It can correct hollow eyes, hollow cheeks, the nose, the lips, and anywhere else volume has been lost, as well as a generalized haggard look caused by the loss of facial fat. Fat grafting can also correct facial scarring and give volume to the buttocks, hips, sternum, or other areas of the body. Additionally, fat grafting can smooth out your forehead, the area in between your mouth and nose, and the area in between your brows.
Lastly, fat grafting can be used to give you a beauty you never had before. It can augment your cheeks, chin, and jaw line. However, it should not be confused with injectables used for lip augmentation such as Restylane®.
How long does fat grafting last?
You can expect the results of fat grafting to last from three months to three years, and possibly longer. The amount of fat retained in the new area of the body is anywhere from 10 to 90 percent; though this depends on the skill of the surgeon and the patient’s physiology.
Since fat grafting is a minimally invasive procedure that uses the patient’s own fat, the risk of serious complications is low. However, it is common for the injected area to feel tight and tender as anesthesia wears off following the injection procedure. The area from which fat was harvested can also be a little uncomfortable.
Mild to moderate bruising and swelling can occur after fat grafting treatment. There is also a chance of infection, hematoma, asymmetry, scar tissue, and fatty cysts.
Fat grafting can improve any area in need of fullness, and new fat grafting techniques have made the procedure more successful and longer lasting than ever before. We are pleased to offer this all-natural, minimally invasive rejuvenation technique. To learn more about fat grafting in Pennsylvania, contact Aestique® Medical Center today.
The Palomar Laser represents a major innovation in the treatment of common skin care challenges such as sunspots, fine lines around the eyes, and acne scars. We are proud to offer this newly approved treatment so our patients can enjoy impressive results with little or no downtime. Read more about Palomar Laser (fractional laser) below, or contact our Greensburg medical center to make an appointment.
The Palomar Laser delivers energy to the deep layers of the skin to smooth away wrinkles, fill in acne scars, and eliminate skin discoloration. Palomar Laser Treatment (FLT) is a “fractional” treatment; that is, the Palomar Laser produces scores of deep columns of treatment in the skin. These are called microthermal treatment zones. These narrow columns make it possible for the Palomar Laser to treat precise areas of tissue without affecting any surrounding tissue. This pattern of treatment also reduces healing time and minimizes swelling and temporary redness.
The Palomar Laser works by stimulating the skin’s natural healing process. Following treatment, your body will create new tissue and collagen to replace damaged cells.
The Palomar Laser has been cleared by the FDA to treat acne scars, skin discoloration such as sun spots and melasma (hormone-related hyperpigmentation), and fine lines around the eyes.
Palomar Laser treatments are quick, painless, and create no downtime.
Your skin will be cleansed in preparation for treatment. A topical anesthetic ointment will be applied to the treatment area about an hour before the treatment begins. At the time of treatment, a special blue gel will be applied to the treatment area to guide the laser.
Patients usually describe the sensation of the Palomar Laser as a prickling sensation. The topical anesthetic helps prevent discomfort.
Immediately after treatment, the gel and ointment will be washed off, and you will be free to put on make-up and return to your daily life.
On average, patients undergo three to five sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. Please speak with our physicians to learn about the course of treatment that is best for you.
The Palomar Laser combines the effectiveness of an ablative skin resurfacing treatment with the gentleness of a non-ablative method. Palomar Laser treatments are safe, comfortable, and result in little or no down time. Swelling is minimal or nonexistent and disappears within 24 hours after treatment. You may experience skin redness, and it is normal and expected for skin to bronze and flake. It is fine to wear makeup to mask temporary redness and to use moisturizer to minimize skin flaking.
Patients typically see improvement in their skin condition after just one session of Palomar Laser treatments. Because the Palomar Laser stimulates your body’s healing mechanisms and the production of new collagen, results are progressive, with the final result appearing in two to three months after your initial treatment. At this point, you can expect to see improved skin texture, smaller pores, a smoothing away of wrinkles or acne scars, and overall rejuvenation of the treated area.
IPL™ photorejuvenation, fat grafting, laser wrinkle removal, and the Palomar Laser represent the best new anti-aging treatments, and we are proud to offer them at our center near Johnstown serving the greater Pittsburgh area.
