Chemical Peel in Pittsburgh

A chemical peel at our facility near Johnstown and Pittsburgh is fully customizable depending on your needs. The solution used during a chemical peel can come in varying degrees (mild, medium, or deep), and its precise formula is dictated by the condition of the patient’s skin. One of our experienced estheticians will help determine which concentration of chemical peel solution is best suited to meet your needs.

A mild chemical peel is best for people with rough, dry areas of skin, acne, and/or uneven pigmentation. This type of chemical peel is composed of alphahydroxy acids. A medium-depth peel is best-suited for those with fine surface wrinkles, blemishes, and/or uneven pigmentation. The depth of the chemical peel treatment depth can be adjusted, and it can be used on any part of the body. A chemical peel only takes 10 to 15 minutes and the healing period following treatment is quick.

The deepest chemical peel yields the most dramatic and long-lasting results, but also has the longest healing time. This type of chemical peel is known as a phenol peel, and it is excellent in battling blotches caused by aging, sun exposure, or birth control pills. This type of chemical peel can also smooth out coarse wrinkles, remove pre-cancerous growths, and give a dramatically rejuvenated appearance. However, this type of chemical peel can only be used on the face. As it can disrupt the production of the skin’s pigment, it is not recommended for darker-skinned patients. Healing from this type of peel is slow, and may take months to complete. However, results last longer than with milder peels.
