If you are troubled by unwanted hair, laser hair removal at our Greensburg facility outside of Pittsburgh may be the answer. Today’s lasers are able to eliminate hair follicles while causing no damage to surrounding tissues and requiring no anesthesia. For optimal results, we recommend three or four laser hair removal treatments at one-month intervals. For coarse hair, more laser hair removal treatments may be necessary.
Laser hair removal works by beaming light into the hair follicle. The pigment in the follicle absorbs this light and converts it to heat, which permanently alters the hair follicle so no hair grows back. This laser treatment is most effective during the growth cycle of the hair, which is why multiple sessions are necessary to completely stop hair growth. Laser hair removal is a relatively painless procedure, as the laser is designed to cool the surface of the skin while delivering light to the hair follicle. If you experience discomfort during the procedure, topical anesthetics can be applied.
The Spa at Aestique® Medical Center uses laser technology to safely and effectively eliminate unwanted hair. Our highly trained technicians commonly treat the face, upper lip, chin, neck, underarms, breasts, bikini line, abdomen, legs, and arms. This type of laser hair removal can be used on all skin types and hair colors, though it is most effective on darker hair. You may resume your normal activities immediately after laser hair removal.

Laser skin resurfacing corrects fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, corrects creases around the mouth, and smoothes and softens the entire complexion, revealing the natural appearance you're looking for. Another benefit of laser skin resurfacing is that it tightens the skin. It is also very useful for those dark discolorations of the face and beneath the eyelids. The results boost self-confidence and self-esteem, giving you an improved quality of life.
Laser skin resurfacing can correct a wide range of skin problems. The laser vaporizes water in skin cells, and these cells are then wiped away. In about six weeks, new tighter, softer skin emerges.
What makes laser skin resurfacing different from microdermabrasion or chemical peels is that it allows the surgeon to have more control. The laser is aimed with pinpoint accuracy and the laser pulse can be adjusted for specific depths, enough to remove only the problem area. Other advantages include little (if any) bleeding and less post-operative discomfort.
Men and women of all ages can benefit from laser resurfacing, but the most ideal candidates are people with fair, healthy, non-oily skin. Patients with other skin characteristics may find other types of treatments more beneficial.
Recent users of Accutane® (within 12 to 18 months), people who are scar prone, or people with skin infections on the target area may not be the most appropriate candidates.
One thing to keep in mind: even though laser skin resurfacing is guaranteed to give your skin a smoother appearance, lines that develop from the natural movements of the face will return. These lines, however, can be battled with BOTOX® injections.
One of the major benefits of laser resurfacing is that complications are rare and minor. Nevertheless, complications do sometimes arise and may result in blisters, scarring, discolorations, or cold sores.
In your initial consultations, you should be frank about your expectations and ask any questions as procedures are explained and as you share your own medical history.
Though most cosmetic surgeries are not covered by insurance companies, Aestique® Medical Center participates with most insurance carriers. Our staff will assist you in this area.
During laser skin resurfacing treatment, the laser is carefully passed back and forth over the skin until the wrinkles, or scars, become less visible.
The specific procedures for laser resurfacing depend upon your needs, and usually last from a few minutes up to a couple hours. A pre-treatment skin care plan will be explained to you. This varies for each person, so the details will be given at the consultation.
For most resurfacing procedures, a local anesthetic or mild sedation (twilight sleep) can be used, depending on the area that will be treated. Twilight sleep allows the patient to be conscious, but to feel no pain and have no memory of the procedure.
Usually an opaque, medicated dressing is applied to the treated area and then changed several times within the first 48 hours following treatment. After the medical dressing is removed, ointments and creams are applied to the treatment area until the healing is complete.
Mild swelling and discomfort can develop after laser skin resurfacing, which can be easily relieved by ice packs and prescribed medicines. Any crusts that may appear usually disappear within 10 days. To prevent scarring, you should not pick at the scabs or crusts.
Generally, a few weeks are necessary for your new skin to turn from pink or red to a more natural color. You should be aware that the skin may be unusually sensitive, and you may need to use different cosmetics than usual. Some pinkness may last for as long as six months, but is easily camouflaged with make-up as early as 10 days to two weeks after laser skin resurfacing.
Most importantly, you should protect your new skin from harmful ultraviolet rays by wearing a hat or visor and by using a sun block cream with an SBF of at least 15. If your treatment was around the eyes, you should wear quality sunglasses with UVA and UVB 100 percent filters.
Once the final results appear, you will have a new quality of skin with a fresher, smoother appearance. Of course, some lines will return to your face, but by following recommendations for a skin care regimen from Dr. Theodore Lazzaro, Dr. Jeffrey Antimarino, and our expert staff of estheticians, you can maintain the new, rejuvenated look you gained from the caring staff at Aestique® Medical Center.
For those individuals who cannot manage a few weeks of recovery that is necessary for laser skin resurfacing, a new and exciting option is the non-invasive laser wrinkle removal (CoolTouch®). Although it takes longer to achieve the final results, it eliminates downtime completely.
In addition to laser hair removal, we also use lasers for skin resurfacing at our Greensburg center, outside Pittsburgh. Lasers can give your skin a younger, flawless look, free of wrinkles, sunspots, scars, and other imperfections or signs of aging. Contact The Spa at Aestique® Medical Center to learn more.
State-of-the-art laser technology enables us to smooth skin and eliminate wrinkles during your lunch break so that you can return to work the same day with no downtime. Unlike the carbon dioxide and erbium lasers that remove the outer layer of skin, this new CoolTouch® laser penetrates to the deeper layers of the skin, where it stimulates collagen production without damaging the surface. Beautiful and healthy skin begins beneath the surface in the dermis.
Collagen is the basic building block of skin, providing support and foundation. The signs of aging, such as wrinkles, facial lines, and skin texture changes, are a result of damaged collagen. The CoolTouch® laser helps to regenerate new collagen restoring a more youthful look! To achieve optimum results, laser wrinkle removal treatments should be performed once per month for three to four months.

Many people, especially women, are troubled by unsightly veins on the face, legs, knees, or ankles. Using laser treatment and no anesthesia, these small blue veins and red spider veins can be safely and permanently eliminated. Laser vein removal collapses these unsightly veins, allowing them to then heal invisibly.
Please contact Aestique® Medical Center for pricing or more information about this laser vein treatment.
